Cross-Country Men Finish 3rd in a Tough Conference

On a bright sunny October afternoon in Grand Rapids, the West Ottawa Men's Cross-Country team tangled with one of the toughest conferences in the state and ended up in 4th place by 1 point in the finals. That 4th place finish combined with previous 1st and 3rd place finishes in the conference meets left the Panthers in 3rd place overall. Senior standout Jake Follett earned an ALL-CONFERENCE medal by finishing in 11th place overall in a time of 16:18. Follett became the first All-Conference runner for West Ottawa's Men's since 2020. Junior co-captain Sebastian Ruiz and freshman hotshot Max Post finished in 16th and 17th places in 16:29 and 16:31 respectively to earn All -Conference honorable Mention. West Ottawa's top 5 was rounded out by junior co-captain Boston Wilkinson (19th place, 16:37) and senior co-captain Michael Dummer (20th place in 16:41). The Panthers race next Saturday in the state regional in an attempt to qualify for the state finals.
