Girls XC Travels to Indianapolis - Beats #15 Ranked Team In America

The girls cross country team traveled to Indianapolis this weekend to compete against some unfamiliar foes and found themselves competing against the #15 ranked team in America - Carmel, Indiana, amongst several other of the top teams in Indiana. In the end West Ottawa came out on top with 54 pts, Carmel was 2nd with 72 pts, Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran 3rd with 116 pts. Helen Sachs was the overall winner setting a new course record of 16:57.4. Ava Porras was 6th overall in a new season best of 18:16, Collette Wierks was 11th with a big personal best of 18:31.9, Emma Gunnett ran a personal best 18:56.4 in 17th place, and Lyla Dowling rounded out the Panther scoring in 19th place with a time 19:00.6. Mary Dowling, Ella Wierks, Chloe Powers and Bria Casey all set personal bests as well. Next up the Panthers head to East Kentwood for the second OK Red Jamboree on Wednesday.
