On a cool and cloudy Halloween eve, the men's cross-country team raced with their best efforts but fell short of the goal of qualifying for the state finals. This regional race featured 3 of the top ten teams in the state as well as numerous individual competitors who finished the 5k under 16 minutes. West Ottawa school record holder and standout sophomore Max Post led the way for WO's varsity 7 with a time of 16:15 (22nd place). Junior co-captain Brody Mulder finished in 28th place with a time of 16:32, just 4 seconds from his lifetime best. Senior co-captains Sebastian Ruiz (16:36, 30th) and Boston Wilkinson (16:38, 33rd) finished their high school racing careers as the number 3 and number 8 runners of all time in school history. Silas Pinney (17:00, 53rd) wrapped up his first high school cross-country season as the fastest freshman in school history. Sophomores Henry Frederick (17:28, 75th) and Miles Koch (17:36, 80th) rounded out the top 7 for West Ottawa.
