The boys varsity tennis team took the court to play against East Kentwood in their final OK-Red Conference duel match of the season. The panthers wanted to finish this part of the season on a high note. Everyone in the OK-Red has players and East Kentwood is no different. The boys tennis team came out strong and gave East Kentwood their full attention. Winning this match secures a 5-0 sweep of the OK-Red matches. In boys tennis, 50% of the end of season results come from the duel match results & the other 50% comes from the results of the conference tournament. Beating East Kentwood firmly puts West Ottawa in first place in the duel portion of the season. The conference tournament will be next Saturday, October 3rd. Next up the boys have a few days off and then will compete against state ranked Holland Christian on Monday at HC and will host state ranked East Grand Rapids Wednesday. Special Note - This is Coach Metz's 9th season as the head coach. Since he has taken over the team, this is the first season that all doubles flights (1-5 doubles) have gone undefeated in OK-Red Conference duel match play. A perfect 25-0.
