At 10:45 pm on a cool moonlit Friday night, the West Ottawa Men's Cross-Country team raced some hot times "Under the Lights" and the fireworks at South Christian High School's home invitational. Led by sophomore superstar Max Post (10th place in 16:14) the Panthers grabbed 5th place in an elite field of 13 teams. Post's time was good enough to move him up to number 7 on the West Ottawa list of fastest runners in school history. Senior captains Sebastian Ruiz (14th place, 16:31) and Boston Wilkinson (20th, 16:38) were closely followed by junior captain Brody Mulder (32nd, 17:08) and freshman standout, Silas Pinney (40th, 17:15). The top 7 was rounded out by junior Thiago Solis (51st, 17:29) and sophomore Henry Frederick (83rd, 18:26). In all, the Panthers brought home 5 medals and 18 personal records. Their next competition will be in the 44th annual Bredeweg HOME invitational on September 12 located on the home course on the middle school campus.
