Tonight was a cool, breezy, but sunny night for the conference track meet at East Kentwood. On display was some of the top talent in the state. The girls finished 5th in this meet, but tied for 4th overall in the conference standings with Grand Haven.

The top 8 scored in each event. Scoring for the team were the following:

Jasmine Correa (10) finished 4th in shot put with a PR and sophomore record of 38’10.5″. She also finished 5th in the discus with a throw of 111’1″.

Ana Beach (9) finished 7th in the long jump, with a jump of 16’8.5″

Kayla Hintz (9) finished 5th in pole vault with a 1ft PR, vaulting 9’6″.

The 4×800 relay, Mady Vanwieren (12), Natalie Blake (9), Iris Swarthout (12) and Abby Olson (11) placed 3rd overall with a season best of 9:55.7.

Ana Beach (9) placed 8th in the 100m dash with a PR of 12.72.

Abby Olson (11) was 3rd in the 1600 with a time of 5:18.

The 4×100 relay, Ana Beach (9), Natalie Dunn (12), Emily Laird (10) and Lauren Coppersmith (10) narrowly placed 4th getting edged out by .03 sec with a time of 51.33.

Sophie Coppersmith (12) was 8th in the 400 with a time of 1:04.6.

Mady VanWieren (12) was 4th in the 800 with a time of 2:23.3.

Ana Beach was 6th in the 200 with a time of 27.17.

Abby Olson was 2nd in the 3200 with a season beast time of 11:21.4

We have several athletes who have the potential to qualify for the state meet next Friday when we compete in the Regional meet at Grand Haven HS. Hope to see you there!
