The WO Girls Cross Country team represented themselves well on their home course this morning by winning the Bredeweg Invitational for the fourth straight year. This was the team’s first competitive test of the season. Every runner rose to the challenge; all 31 Varsity and JV runners posted a season or lifetime best performance.
Leading the team was senior Katie Frauenheim who ran a lifetime best of 19:04, finishing fourth overall. Next was junior Abby Olson and senior Mady VanWieren who finished in 10th and 15th respectively. Rounding out the scoring were freshman Kaia Denhof and senior Taylor Schott finishing in 25th and 29th place.
The team will travel to East Lansing on Friday, September 14th where they will race at the highly competitive Spartan Invitational.
