West Ottawa defeated the number 2 ranked Division One Grand Haven Buccaneers at home Tuesday 41-39. The Panthers had an all around great team effort on defense, holding the high powered Bucs to under 40 points. With 10 seconds left senior captain Rachel Elms hit a deep 3 point shot from the top of the key off an assist from Abby Sprick to put the Panthers on top. After a defensive stop, Elms then hit one of two free throws for the 2 point margin. WO was lead in scoring by Natalie Dunn with 18 points, Alexa Borgman stepped up big with 11 points, and Elms contributed 8. The Lady Panthers are now 8-4 on the season and host East Kentwood this Friday evening.
