Despite the early morning rain, it ended up being one of the more pleasant evenings we have had for a meet. We knew it would be a tough meet for us going in and wanted to maximize some individual match ups and try out some guys in new events. The guys rose to the occasion. Every event is a learning opportunity to work towards improvement.
Overall the team established a total of 34 personal bests for the season! Many are moving in the right direction and are improving as the season moves along.
11th grader, Isaac Easter won the 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles. In the 300 hurdles, he established a PR of 42.82 sec.
9th grader, Max VanGrouw had a big PR day in the 1600 and 800. He dropped 12 secs in the mile to run 5:41 and dropped 4 secs in the 800 to run 2:37. Keep up the hard work!
11th grader and newcomer to track, Jackson Kuyers, had a big PR day in the 100 dropping from a 12.4 to 12.09 and had a huge throw in the disc increasing his PR from 100.2′ to 127’9.5″!!!
Probably the highlight of the meet was newcomer Dylan Ploeg, in his first track meet ever, cleared 6′ in the high jump. He won event and is currently tied for 1st in our conference in the HJ. Awesome work Dylan!
We look forward to traveling to Grandville on Wednesday. GO WO!
