Girls Varsity Cross Country · Girls XC Wins Back-to-Back Conference Titles


The girls cross country won the OK Red Conference title today after going undefeated (7-0) in the regular season.  The Panthers dominated the front of the race with 6 All-Conference runners (Top 14) overall.  Arianne Olson [So.] won the overall Conference title in 18:22 – her second straight individual Conference championship.  Sophie Bonnema (Jr.) finished in 3rd, breaking 19 minutes for the first time in 18:59; while Abby Bonnema (Jr.) finished 4th in a lifetime best 19:02.  Megan Postma (So.) was 7th also in a lifetime best 19:15.  Kaia Denhof (Jr.) was shortly behind in 10th in a season best 19:20.  Rounding out the All-Conference team was Lillian Reiner (So.) 14th in 19:46.  Other West Ottawa finishers were Abby Green (Jr.) in a lifetime best 20:28, Claire Engle (So.) in a season best 21:19, and Emily Laird (Sr.) in a season best 21:38.  This is the girl cross country team’s second straight conference, winning their first title in school history last year.

Next up the Panthers JV team will be at Riverside Park in Grand Rapids on Tuesday for the OK Red JV races and Saturday West Ottawa will host the Pre-Regional meet at the middle school campus.  Go WO!
