Game Recap

The temperature on the turf in Kalamazoo topped 100 degrees, yet the Panthers and the Maroon Giants began the game in excellent form. Both teams built quality scoring opportunities, but the Maroon Giants broke through when a corner kick got loose in the box and a Giant found the net.

The Panthers drew even when Lennie Lopez won possession along the left sideline and carried to midfield, finding Danny deForest, who threaded a pass to Ray Mackey at the top of the box. Mackey finished to the right side of the goal.

Estevan Rosas nearly put the Panthers ahead when he received a creative header from Omar Mireles at 30 yards and struck a beautiful ball that glanced off the crossbar.

Despite the heat, both teams battled throughout the contest, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
