Boy’s Lacrosse Program Information

Official practices begin soon! On March 12, JV and Varsity Boys Lacrosse practice will begin for the Spring 2012 season. We coaches are very much looking forward to being able to work with our athletes once again in large groups.

Practice Schedule, for Week One: Weather permitting, we will be outside on our practice field on 152nd, from 3:15 – 5:30. Should the weather not cooperate with us, we will practice in the South HS Gym: Monday 3:15-5:30, Tuesday 5-7, Wednesday 7-9, Thursday 3-5, and Friday 5-7. Practice will be followed by a mandatory 30-40 minute weight room/conditioning session on all Mondays and Wednesdays during our 2012 season. (Friday sessions will be optional, but strongly encouraged, as well.)

Upcoming Fundraiser: Monday, March 19th – Buffalo Wild Wings Night! I will be emailing you all a coupon soon, that you can bring to B-Dubs with you that day that will earn us a percentage of cost for our program. You can just print out the coupon and bring it with you on the 19th, but you can also email it to everyone you know, in the hopes that we get a large crew of people to come out and eat some delicious wings for a good cause! (More to come, via email.)

Big thanks to all that helped sell 50/50 Raffle tickets on our Snow Day Friday last week! Coach Becker reports that we did quite well, all things considered!

Founded in 2001 by Coach Rick Becker and parent organizers Brad Miller and Jim Mitchner, West Ottawa’s Varsity Lacrosse program has grown to become a competitive West Michigan team. Currently headed by Coach Brad Vredevoogd (2004-), the Panthers compete in the OK Rainbow’s Division I Conference.
