Meet Recap

The West Ottawa Panthers qualified for the MHSAA Div. 1 State Finals for the first time since 2002 with a 3rd place finish at the Div. 1 Regionals @ Thornapple Pointe GC today. Forest Hills Central [322] edged Rockford [323] by a single stroke to take home the regional trophy. The Panthers [332], waiting for the final score from Portage Central [333] to be added to their scoreboard, ended up beating PC by one stroke. The Panthers were led by T4th individual scorer Sr. Hunter Myrick who shot a 79. Soph. Drew Dykens added an 83, while Sr. Jace Garza and Jr. Nick Wehrmeyer both carded 85’s. The 3rd place finish advances the Panthers to the State Finals next weekend @ Forest Akers West GC on the campus of MSU.
