Meet Recap

The WO Girls CC team had an excellent showing at the second of three OK Red Jamborees. The girls won the meet in a closely fought competition between WO, Grand Haven, and Rockford. WO just edged out Grand Haven by 4 points and Rockford by 9 for the win.

This victory marks the first ever jamboree win in WO Girls XC program history. Leading the panthers were Taylor Schott and Emma DeNave who worked together and ran stride-for-stride throughout the race, finishing 5th and 8th respectively. Next, Iris Swarthout and Abby Olson finished together in 11th and 12th respectively, both running a time of 19:33. Katie Frauenheim rounded out the scoring for the panthers with a 19th place finish.

The panthers look to build upon this conference win as they take on the best competition in the state this Saturday at the Portage Invitational. The team is currently ranked 11th in D1 according to this weeks rankings and will enter the conference finals on October 20th as the top ranked team in the OK Red based on results from the first and second jamborees.
